The Quickening!

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Rom8:11

What happens when you ‘Receive’ Jesus? “But as many as received Him, to them gave He the Power to become the Children of God” Jh1:12. You have responded to the altar call, repeated some words and been pronounce Saved! But has anything really changed inside? You’re still vile and Double-Minded, born in sin and lacking any real ability to change your ways. Although you’ve been told that God will clean you up later. Nevertheless you now fit into the group and no one is going to cast any dispersion on your behavior. You can enjoy yourself.

Most Professed Christians will agree that with God ALL things are possible. However the ONE thing that is IMPOSSIBLE is the very reason that FEW will ever really be Saved. The Consensus of opinion in the Church System is without question that NO ONE can STOP Sinning! (Before or after Salvation) And if anyone THINKS that its really possible to stop, they are deceived and trying to Work or Earn their way into Heaven.  So the foregone conclusion among professed Christians is ‘Sin Dailey’ in thought, word and deed, but forgiven in advance.

However Jesus came to ‘Save’ His people FROM their sins, NOT in them. (Matt1:21) He was Manifest to Destroy the works of the Devil. (1Jh3:8) That’s why anyone Born of God DOES NOT Sin! (1Jh3:9) Meaning they Produce Good Fruit and Do what is Right. (Lk6:43-45) But where is the POWER for this to happen in repeating some words at an altar? Simply it’s absent. There is NO ‘Quickening’ taking place. Let’s examine the facts.

You come to God DEAD in your trespasses and sins. (Eph2:1) You have a living Soul but your spirit is non-functioning. The Power of God is required to Quicken (make alive!) that spirit and raise you up with Christ, renewing your Mind. (Eph2:5-6, Rom6:4-6) So you can WALK in the New Life, Cleansed, Purged and Pure of Sin!

This happens through Repentance and Faith Proven by Deeds. (Acts26:18, Matt3:8, 2Cor7:10-11) Only after the Clearing of wrong doing and vehement desire change will God bestow this Power. NEVER while you remain in your sins. He will give LIFE to your Mortal body through His Spirit that dwells in you. (Rom8:11)

The Power of Regeneration is wrought of God. (Eph2:8-9, Titus3:7) That’s why it’s by Grace you are Saved through faith, and that not of yourself it’s a Gift of God, not of Works lest anyone should boast. NOT denying that Works or Deeds are necessary in Salvation, but that ONLY God has the Power to Quicken our spirit back to life. That’s the exceeding riches of His Grace and kindness toward us in Christ. (Eph2:7) Saved from the Corrupting influence of Sin and given exceeding Great and Precious Promises to overcome the world! (2Pet1:3-4)

You Cannot WALK in the Spirit unless you have the Spirit. (Rom8:9) As a Slave to sin your spirit is dead (dormant)

You Walk according to the course of this world, according to the Prince and Power of the air, the spirit that works in the sons of disobedience. (Eph2:2-3) By ‘Nature’ you are a child of Wrath. NOT Born with such a Nature, but through ‘long practiced habit’ making the wrong choices. Dead in your sins you Still possess the Ability to make a Right choice, just like the Prodigal Son sitting in the Pig Pen (wallowing in his sin) who came to himself, rose up and went BACK to the Father. (Lk15:17-18) He was not restored to Life until the Father bestowed it freely to him on virtue of his humble and genuine repentance.

This is what it means to be Dead and Alive again! When you encounter the Working of God and made alive together with Him, forgiven of your Past Sins (Rom3:25, Col2:11-13) It’s a Circumcision made without hands by PUTTING OFF the body of sin! This happens through the ‘Working’ or ‘Operation’ of God and it speaks of the POWER in the John1:12 passage. Translated: energeia - From G1756; efficiency (“energy”): - operation, strong, Super human (effectual) working.]!

The TOTAL Opposite of being ‘Saved in your Sins!’ In Real Salvation you are Quickened together with Him. (Col2:13) Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. (Rom6:4-6)

Consequently IF the SON sets you Free, you are FREE INDEED! (Jh8:36) Meaning Free from Sin, because he who commits sin is a Slave to Sin. (Jh8:34) Those Quickened by God are a NEW Creation in Christ! (2Cor5:17) Obedient and Pure, No longer living for the lust of the flesh but the Will of God. Sin has Ceased and the World has lost its appeal. (1Pet4:1-3) True Salvation is Glorious and NOTHING is Impossible in God.
