Ray Comfort is a typical Reformed preacher. He has invented a New System of outreach evangelism that seems to cross over demon national lines and appeal to a wide range of teachers inside the System. Many indorse his message wholeheartedly and use it to increase church membership. (including: Franklin Graham, Josh McDowell, D. James Kennedy, Bill Gothard, David Wilkerson, Jerry Falwell, George Barna, Ted Haggard and others.) Even fundamental Street preachers follow his methods, believing that applying the law to the conscience will prepare the heart for Grace. But minus Genuine Repentance, it is only another deception to get people saved in their sins. Comfort Preaches Substitution, Moral Transfer, Pre-forgiveness of sin and eternal security, although he will cloak his words with a lot of old fashioned rhetoric.

Ray Comfort quote:
"What it is is a sad admission to the amount of confidence we have in the power of our message and in the keeping power of God. If God has saved them, God will keep them. If they are born of God, they will never die. If He's begun a good work in them, He'll complete it to that Day. If He is the Author of their faith, He will be the finisher of their faith. He is able to save to the uttermost them that come to God by Him. He is able to keep them from falling and to present them faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. Jesus said no one will pluck you from my Father's hand."   "Let's allow the Word of God to answer him:"

If INDEED you Continue Grounded, Steadfast and immovable in the faith! Col1:23. We are Workers together with Him so we do not receive the Grace of God in Vain! 2Cor6:1. He is the Author of Eternal Life to all those who OBEY Him! Heb5:9. My Sheep hear My Voice and they Follow Me! John10:27.  Having faith a good conscience which some have rejected and Shipwrecked their faith! 1Tim1:19. By this Gospel you are Saved IF you Holdfast the Word I preached, unless you believed in Vain, 1Cor15:1-2

Ray Comfort likes to use this passage to prove that through Christ we are Dead to the law.  'Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God." Rom7:4  HOWEVER his Premise is founded on a Faulty Foundation. His Gospel Consist of the following:

You are Born Dead in your Sins under the Curse of the Law

Christ Came, Paid your Fee, Took Penalty, Removed Curse. (He went to Jail for you!)

You Trust in His Provision, admit you’re a sinner and Soundly Saved.  (Released from Jail)

Now law makes no Demands or no further Condemnation. (Moral Requirements not a necessity)

AGAIN the Word of God exposes him! Faith Upholds and Establishes the law! Rom3:31. Faith WALKS in the Righteous Requirements of the Law. Rom8:4. Christ Did Not Come to Abolish the Law, Matt5:17-20. For not the hearers of the law are Just in the sight of God, but the Doers of the law will be justified, Rom2:13. If you Sin willfully after you have received a knowledge of the truth no sacrifice for sin remains! Heb10:26.

Comfort Likes to use the Term, 'Prepare the heart for Grace' , As in reference to the Rich young man who came to Jesus in Matt19:16-22, and asked what must he do to inherit eternal life. Comfort says that Jesus told this man to Keep the Commandments in order to prepare his heart for Grace yet to come, by which he would then serve God out of Gratitude instead of obligation.
Yet when another man summarized the Commandments in loving God with all your heart, mind, soul, strength, Jesus said to him:
 Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.”  Mark12:34

This was the perfect opportunity to clarify Comfort's version of the Gospel. Yet Jesus steadfastly insisted that Following Him and KEEPING His Commands was essential in order to inherit the Kingdom. NOT Trusting in some kind of arrangement yet to be provided.

Another thing Comfort will do when preaching on the streets or at a college compass is tell how Jesus Changed his heart. He says:
"God took my rotten dirty heart that loved to lust and preferred lying and gave me new desires for what was right and made me love His Word!"

Then he will turn around and Say this in the same breath: "I'm not exaggerating but my heart is deceitfully wicked. When a friend says to me I'm have such a battle with sin, will you pray for me. I tell him, why not swap brains with me for an hour and you'll be pleased to get your back! I know my heart is desperately wicked, nothing in me dwells no good thing!"

So WHICH is it? Was his heart changed or not? The Double Minded man receives nothing from the Lord! (James1:7-8) Comfort's own theology won't allow him to Preach Heart Purity.....which is the Purpose of the Commandment. (1Tim1:5) He believes in the lie of 'inbred' sin, the malady everyone possess in their flesh inherited from Adam. Therefore he is Righteous in 'Position' but in actuality Still a dirty sinner.

Don't be fooled by Comfort. He is no different than any of the others preaching reformed theology. His methods may appear dynamic to the average Dead Church, but NO ONE is coming into the Kingdom as a result of his formulas. PREACH Christ's Gospel based on Repentance and Faith PROVEN by Deeds! (Matt7:13-14)
